Straight From the Horse’s Mouth: Trump Admits He Personally Ordered DOJ Lawsuit to Block Alaska From Certifying Its Senate Race
“I’m the one that said do it,” Trump told reporters as he landed in Florida for a campaign rally.
WASHINGTON, DC – Donald Trump admitted Friday that he personally ordered the Justice Department’s lawsuit to block Alaska from certifying its U.S. Senate race if Republican Sen. Dan Sullivan loses. “I’m the one that said do it,” Trump told reporters as he landed in Florida for a campaign rally.
Trump’s confession comes one day after DOJ filed the suit and days after Attorney General Todd Blanche said that he worked directly for Trump, not the American people.
“Breaking every norm, Trump’s Justice Department sued to hold Alaska’s election hostage because he told it to,” said Mally Smith, Try And Stop Us Senior Adviser. “Todd Blanche stood in front of reporters and said that he works directly for Trump, not the American people. At the exact same time, his goons were filing a lawsuit to meddle with Alaskans’ votes on the president’s orders. Alaska’s courts already ruled, Alaskans are already voting, and no lawsuit Trump orders up will change who decides this race: Alaska voters.”
