Donald Trump Is a Big Fat Loser

Trump's anti-voting crusade is 0-for-everything, and he and Republicans are getting more desperate by the day. His DOJ just lost its 18th straight case trying to seize states' private voter data.

WASHINGTON, DC — Donald Trump is a big fat loser. Trump's Justice Department just lost its 18th straight case trying to seize states' private voter data, this time when a federal judge in New Jersey threw out its lawsuit and called the department's legal theory “untenable.” Zero wins. Eighteen losses. That's a losing streak that would embarrass any team. But not Trump and his loser Republican allies — who have so soiled themselves with terrible tariffs, high grocery and gas prices, and taking a wrecking ball to health care to fund tax breaks for the rich — that their only hope of survival is to rig the game to win an election they otherwise are certain to lose.

“Donald Trump and his Republican allies are a bunch of desperate, big fat losers. Trump and Republicans are 0 for 18 in their crusade to stop Americans they disagree with from voting in November, and they still don't know when to quit,” said Abhi Rahman, Try and Stop Us Spokesperson. “They know they can't win a fair fight so they're trying to rig the game instead. Every damn time a judge tells them no, they go running to another court hoping for a different answer. It's pathetic, it's desperate, and it's failing. With safe and secure elections in place, voters will decide this election, not a bunch of sore, desperate losers in Washington.”

In addition to getting smacked down in New Jersey, a federal appeals court in Michigan just rejected DOJ's ask for that state's voter rolls too. And after Trump's anti-mail voting order was rejected twice, first in district court and then before the 1st Circuit, his administration is now asking the Supreme Court to bail it out.

The more Trump and Republicans lose, the more desperate they get. The will of the people wins anyway.

Key Points

New Jersey marks Trump's 18th straight loss in efforts to seize states' private voter data. The 0-18 record includes losses before 11 judges appointed by Republican presidents. Eight were appointed by Trump himself.

Trump has already lost in the Sixth Circuit, and is poised to lose yet another pending voter roll case based in Kentucky.

Trump's order restricting mail voting has now lost in court twice as well. A federal district judge blocked it in the 23 states that sued, and on July 25 the First Circuit left that block in place, warning the order would impose “unprecedented levels of involvement by federal officials in how states administer elections.”

The Supreme Court has already rejected one Republican attack on mail voting this summer. On June 29, the justices ruled 5-4 in Watson v. RNC that states may count mail ballots postmarked by Election Day that arrive afterward, preserving grace period laws in 18 states and territories. Justice Barrett wrote the opinion.

At least a half-dozen Republican-led state election offices have refused DOJ's demands for confidential voter data.

And what's driving the Trump/GOP desperation? The shittiest polling ever. Trump's net approval rating is cratering at a dismal -20 points.
