Center for American Progress: A new report lays 15 of Trump's election tactics side-by-side with the exact strategies dictators used to rig their own elections — purging voter rolls, deploying troops near polls, and refusing to certify results he doesn't like. Putin buys votes and changes election laws on the fly. Orbán rewrote district maps and deployed politicized audits. Maduro used the military to control polling places and refused to release results. Trump has echoed the same intent directly: his preferred voting rules, he's said, would mean Republicans “never lose a race” for “50 years.”

LA Times / MS Now: Two judges blocked Trump's mail-voting order. Now he wants the Supreme Court to “act promptly” to reverse it. Solicitor General John Sauer called it “critical” that the justices “act promptly.” Judge Talwani had ruled the government “made little effort to defend” the order's merits in the first place.

Vox: Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Nevada all have a 2020 denier running for governor or secretary of state this cycle. Election law experts say outright theft remains hard to pull off, but warn that deniers in office could still erode public trust enough to make a future crisis more likely.

Democracy Docket: A judge dismissed the RNC's lawsuit to give partisan poll challengers more power to disrupt ballot counting. “This Court finds that… there is not a reasonable amount of time… for election officials to comply,” wrote Judge Randy Wallace.

NHPR: A voting rights group sued to reinstate student IDs for voter registration, arguing the repeal unconstitutionally burdens young voters. “It is clear that HB 323 is part of a long-running history of New Hampshire politicians making it harder for young people to vote,” the plaintiffs said. The same group already won a separate case blocking the state's proof-of-citizenship law.
